Pick-me game

When you finally land the three scatters, you enter the pick-me game, only the software does your picks for you. I’d like the chance to make my own picks, rather than let the game decide what to pick for me.

Jackpot

I could understand the lower payouts on the slot if Jimi offered us a huge jackpot to be won. But given that this is just 80,000 coins, it is nowhere near as big as what is available on slots that offer a better return to players over the longer run.

Graphics and soundtrack 5/5

The combination of Hendrix guitars, the superstar himself, plus a range of ’60s-themed symbols, (set against a desert backdrop) screams Woodstock and flower power.

The presentation values capture the essence of the era perfectly. The big win guitar lick you get when a decent pay eventually comes your way is a nice touch.

Originality and creativity 4/5

It is clear NetEnt wanted to create something different here and to a large extent they have done precisely that. The number of features, the symbols, and presentation all are very different to the typical 5×3 video slot you’ll play.

Play value 1/5

Oh dear, this is where Jimi lets himself down somewhat. From teeny tiny base game wins (often less than one-fifth of your stake) to tiny free spins round wins (less than 2x your typical base game bet).

As great as this slot looks, and as regularly as you win, you’ll just see your balance heading south. A great, great shame.

Jackpot potential 2/5

An 80,000-coin jackpot is not to be sniffed at, especially when you can wager $2.00 per coin. However, it is still not as much as is available on some other slots available at legal NJ online casinos.

And when you add the play value in, it doesn’t really appeal as a jackpot game.
