Do you recall the cartoon Fairly Odd Parents?

It’s about a young boy whose parents were fairies that could grant wishes or cause all kinds of mayhem.

But oddly enough, aside from the King, the slot is rather measured and perhaps a little understated.

King of Slots is a game with all-around appeal.

The stake sizes ($0.25 to $25) mean it is likely to appeal to low to mid stakes players, but the potential jackpot win of 750,000 coins means that big jackpot hunters and higher stakes NJ online slots players will also be very interested.

This is one of the best balanced games I’ve come across in a long time; however, it has its frustrations.

First up, the ability to play for a wide range of lower value stakes puts this game firmly in the sights of lower to medium stakes players, but with a big jackpot of 750,000 coins possible, higher stakes and big jackpot hunters will also be attracted to play.

The presentation is nice and smooth, with the cartoon king ruling over the five reels. They spin with a pleasing whirring noise and a gentle soundtrack.

Spins occur quickly during autoplay and, of course, when the Sticky Win feature kicks in, things get interesting.

Sticky Win ensures that regardless of what symbol hits a payline for you, any symbols not part of that win will be spun again.

If on that subsequent spin, they add another symbol to your payline, then you receive a larger payout and get the chance to spin any remaining reels again. In this way, you can build a small win of, say, three symbols into a much larger one.

Of course, the additional spins during Sticky Win are all free and the good news is that you don’t have to have just one symbol making a winning payline. You can use multiple symbols across multiple lines to claim a win.

The Sticky Win feature adds a huge amount to the base game and as a player, you feel like you are receiving an additional bonus.

However, my one gripe with King of Slots is the free spins round. In reviewing the game, it took me an absolute age to finally trigger it.

Of course, you can win some big money during free spins, especially with a 3x multiplier in play on every win during that round, but often the wins are not that much bigger than what you can trigger in the base game.

King of Slots is definitely a game to watch. It has a really great balance of regular smaller wins and bigger less frequent wins in the base game. It was just a pity that the free spins round was so difficult to trigger.

Sticky wins

If at any point during the base game or free spins you trigger a win, then the Sticky Win bonus activates. This spins all symbols not involved in the payline and allows you to grow the size of the win by adding more symbols to an existing payline, or creating a new payline.

The Sticky Win feature re-triggers until a spin does not add any new wins to the existing ones.

Although the cartoon king implies a more humorous game, the actual gameplay on King of Slots is rather sedated, but well-presented.

The game looks nice and plays very quickly during autoplay. With the additional features, it is a big thumbs up for aesthetics alone.

Regular wins

One of the nicest things about the King of Slots base game is that it rewards you with regular smaller to mid-sized wins.

Alas, there are times when the slot plays with more volatility and you need to have a decent bankroll to absorb these periods of few wins and hope to hit the free spins round.

Sticky Wins

Without doubt the best feature of the game is the Sticky Win feature, which operates in base game and free spins rounds. It’s a great feature that adds a huge amount of excitement to the base game.

Free spins difficult to hit

The biggest problem in the King of Slots game is hitting the free spins bonus. It can take a long, long time and unfortunately when you do, there’s no guarantee of a big win.

However, by the same token, free spins is the key to winning the massive 750,000-coin jackpot in the game.

Multiplier only in free spins

Although the base game is good, it would have been nice if there had been a triggerable multiplier bonus on some of the base game wins, especially those completed by a wild.

Free spins wins can be small

Although the King of Slots pays out relatively frequently, a lot of the wins are generally small, even if you trigger what appears to be a lot of symbols. It can be frustrating to think you are lining up a huge win to find you only receive 5x or 10x your initial bet.

The clean lines, simple color scheme, and smooth animations all add up to a slot that doesn’t wow in terms of achievements, but presents crisply and beautifully.

Add the cartoon king and you have a fine example of a slot where less is more.

There are some nice touches in this slot, notably the Sticky Win feature which lifts it above the average. Other than that, it is the same free spins and wild symbol offering with just a single multiplier.

Good, but not great in creative terms.
