The Victorious slot is one of those games that has a very ambiguous name. It could literally be about anything; a football team carrying off the trophy, one political party winning over another, or

Overview: Victorious
The basics of the Victorious slot are that it is a 5×3 slot with a fixed bet of 25 coins in play on each spin. There are no paylines, as the Ways to Win system is in operation. You can increase the coin value for each bet from $0.01 up to $0.25 per spin. You can also increase the value of your bet by clicking on the Level indicator. This will increase the bet by a factor commensurate with the level. Level 1 is 1 x $0.25, Level 2 is 2 x $0.25 ($0.50 total bet) and so on.
The game features the usual playing card low symbols 9 through Ace. (Although they have been given a slight Roman-style makeover to make them fit in with the game more appropriately.) Alongside these symbols, there are the four higher value symbols of a Roman Legion. These include a soldier, a Roman general and the Caesar, who looks rather like Julius if we’re being honest.
The base game jackpot is 1,500 coins for five Caesar’s on a winning payline, although you can win considerably more than this cumulatively in the free spins round if you get lucky.
Who will the Victorious slot appeal to?
Victorious is one of those slots that with its name and the icon used to advertise it, is somewhat ambiguous, so it will certainly pique the curiosity of slot fans who are keen to see what the slot is actually about. When they do load up the slot, I don’t think too many will be disappointed to discover its overarching Roman theme.
In many ways, Victorious is a somewhat bog-standard slot. It has the usual Wild and Scatter symbols, a free spin round but little in the way of other key features beyond that (although its paylines are more generous as it uses Ways to Win rather than specific linked lines). There’s nothing wrong with that if you enjoy these games, as many do, but one thing to remember is that Victorious is definitely a higher variance game, so those wins can be hard to come by.

It is fair to say that if you have played any of Microgaming’s vast output of slots over the course of the years then you will likely have enjoyed a high percentage of slots that play in the exact same 
was as the Victorious slot.
The base game is relatively straightforward with the mix of high and low symbols. Once you have chosen your wager size (and good bankroll management is essential to get the most out of higher volatility slots in particular) then it is simply a question of using either the Spin button or the Autoplay feature to get the reels spinning.
One small issue I have with this design of console is that they put the MaxBet button next to the Spin button and it can be easy, if you are not concentrating, to accidentally click the Max Bet button. That’s not a problem if you are spinning for that amount each spin, but if you are playing for considerably less, accidentally clicking it can prove to be somewhat expensive if your bet goes from Level 1 up to Level 10.
The base game is, if we’re being honest, not the most spectacular. Wins tend to be small with the occasional bigger win to spice things up. The Ways to Win system, rather than standard paylines, does help you land a few extra wins, but most of these tend to be small and some do not cover the total bet you made on the spin.
Additional features
To help you land more and bigger value wins there is an Eagle Crest Wild symbol on the reels which can substitute for any of the high or low value symbols to create a winning payline. It can also serve as a scatter symbol, which is one of the nicer touches in the slot.
However, to get the best out of this slot you need to hit the Free Spins round. This is achieved by hitting three, four or five scatter symbols on the reels in succession, starting from left to right, which not only awards a prize of 5x, 20x ot 50x your total stake respectively, but also 15, 20 or 25 free spins respectively too.
During free spins all wins are subject to a 3x multiplier, which radically increases the value of each win.

Presentation 
The stirring drum beats and music accompanying the Victorious slot fit perfectly in with the Roman theme and while the graphics are somewhat basic and looking a little dated, the slot does get the blood pumping and players in the mood to spin.

There are a nice mix of wins in the base game, starting with lower value wins, many of which don’t cover your initial bet, but there are a good number of much better value wins which can top up your bank balance nicely.
Easy to play and understand

Musically, the Victorious slot is excellent with a stirring soundtrack to accompany the action on the reels, however the graphics are now looking a little dated and there’s no animation to speak of.

I’m afraid in the modern world of slots, Victorious is very much harking back to an era where free spins and wild symbols were still a treat for fans. These options are now almost de rigueur for modern slot and with nothing else to offer, this isn’t the most original or creative game you can play.

A high variance slot isn’t likely to have a strong play value and this is certainly the case most of the time on Victorious when small wins and spins without wins can contribute to players seeing their bank balance dwindle rather quickly.

With only a 1,500 coin jackpot available in the base game, this isn’t a huge amount and although in free spins you could accumulate more over the space of the bonus feature, the chances are that most often you won’t.
