Return Of The Stack: NJ Sportsbooks Pack In The Promos And Odds Boosts For NBA, NHL
For the past four months, there has been no action on local sports teams such as the Brooklyn Nets and Philadelphia Flyers at New Jersey online sportsbooks. Now, however, NBA promos have got their flow back.
The NHL playoffs are also back up in their game this weekend. For that reason, several NJ sportsbooks are running things to get bettors back into their swing.
Before we pump up your world with these free bet offers, we kick things off with a Fox Bet offer for new players. Starting Aug. 1, new players who sign up at Fox Bet have a 76ers special that’s just for them.
Sign up, make a deposit and place your first bet of $1 on ANY Sixers market. The reward is $76 in free bets, which will be credited to your account 48 hours after the close of the Sixers game in August.
Players can only bet on one 76ers game at Fox Bet to qualify, and it must be a single event, but win or lose, you get $76.
Stacking NBA promos and free bets at NJ sportsbooks
Five of the most popular online sportsbooks in NJ have specials for the NBA’s restart on Thursday (yes, that’s today). Which book has the best deals depends on what you’re looking for.
While the Philadelphia 76ers and the Nets will both be in action this weekend, you can use most of these promos on any game you choose. The action starts Thursday evening and continues through Sunday night.
DraftKings’ NBA delights
In DraftKings Sportsbook’s starting lineup are two pregame protections. These are essentially guarantees against lost bets.
The markets eligible for their use include wagers on which player will score the first basket in a game. If you miss on that but your chosen player’s team wins the game, DraftKings will refund your wager.
The other pregame protection depends on how many points your team of choice scores in its game. Put down money on either side of a moneyline. If your team scores at least 110 points in a losing effort, DraftKings will return your bet.
FanDuel is another option for NJ bettors looking to maximize their NBA betting dollar this weekend. Many of the specials there are quite similar.
FanDuel’s NBA fortunes
If site credit pumps up your world, check out the odds boost for Saturday night’s Indiana Pacers vs. Philadelphia 76ers game. A pregame wager of at least $50 on either side of the moneyline for that contest is the ticket to this deal.
FanDuel Sportsbook will pay you $3 in site credit for every point in the winning margin if you pick the game correctly. So, for example, if you stake the Sixers and they win by five points, you’d get $15 in FanDuel credit.
The greatest hype at FanDuel involves that contest as well. The popular “Spread the Love” market is on the Lakers’ spread for Thursday’s tilt.
With every 2,500 wagers placed on the market, FanDuel moves the point spread in the Lakers’ favor by a point. As of 4 p.m. ET on Thursday, the spread was at +22, with 1,033 more necessary to move it to +23. The odds are fixed at -110 on the market.
Hunting for NBA promos at Fox Bet
For Friday’s Nets–Orlando Magic game, Fox Bet’s promos aren’t elusive. The sportsbook has boosted odds of +400 on both teams to go over 110.5 points and +475 on all four quarters to go over 50.5 points.
Fox Bet also offers up to $50 in free bets on the 76ers’ game. Wager at least $3 on either side of the moneyline. For each 3-point attempt the team you pick hits during the game, the sportsbook will give you a $3 free bet, up to $50 in site credit.
Props are also hot at Fox Bet NJ sportsbook. If you stake at least $10 on an NBA prop bet Thursday, Friday and Saturday, the book will reward you with a $10 free bet.
PointsBet and PlaySugarHouse NBA probabilities to perpend
Perhaps the premiere promo at PointsBet NJ for this weekend is the NBA Insurance. For all NBA moneyline wagers, PointsBet will cover your wager with free bets, up to $50, if the team you stake scores first but loses the game.
In eight of the last 10 games before the NBA suspended its season, the team that scored first ended up losing. That’s why PointsBet is offering this insurance to ensure that bettors enjoy the return of the NBA.
Over at SugarHouse Sportsbook, you can earn free bets Thursday and Friday. Just place a pregame wager of at least $50 on any NBA game either day. Whether you win or not, the sportsbook will give you a free $5 bet for each qualifying wager.
You can use that promo twice each day, for a potential total of four free $5 bets. Of course, should you win, you also will collect your profit from your wager. The NHL playoffs promise some more opportunities to cash out as well.
The NHL is back to run the show
With the New York Islanders, New York Rangers, Philadelphia Flyers and Pittsburgh Penguins all in action between Saturday and Sunday, NHL betting in NJ is singing its comeback song.
PointsBet NJ sportsbook goes on the powerplay with a special for bettors who don’t want to wait the full three periods to cash out. Wager at least $50 on any moneyline before the puck drops, and if the team you staked takes a two-goal lead, you can enjoy your winnings right then and there.
Fox Bet has some Correct Score boosts on all of the aforementioned games. Regardless of whether you’re a fan of those teams, some of these lines are like a scorching slap shot. They include:
- +850 on the Rangers to win 3-0, 4-2 or 5-2
- +1000 on the Islanders to win 4-1, 4-2 or 5-3
- +600 on the Penguins to win 3-0, 4-2 or 5-2
- +1000 on the Flyers to win 2-0, 4-1 or 5-3
DraftKings and FanDuel both have per-goal bonuses based on single-game or series wagers. At DraftKings, you can get a free $5 bet for each goal scored by a team you stake in a market to win its best-of-five series.
FanDuel restricts that to just the first game of the Flyers vs. Boston Bruins series, however. At DraftKings, your minimum stake is $25, while FanDuel requires you to stake $50.
Both of those books also offer free bets for their Stanley Cup futures markets. Again, the minimum stake is $25 at DraftKings, while FanDuel asks for at least $50.
For basketball fans, it doesn’t get much better than these New Jersey NBA promos. For hockey bettors as well, these deals show you that the sportsbooks are real.
Welcome back, sports. It’s been too long.
