October means Atlantic City casinos are gearing up for Halloween celebrations. However, if getting dressed up for a costume party is not your thing, there is nothing to be scared about. Why? Because there is plenty happening along the world famous Boardwalk and in the Marina District.

Hard Rock Rock Hotel Casino Atlantic City is preparing to roll out the Unity by Hard Rock rewards program. Plus, Showtime is returning to AC for another live boxing card.

And what would a month of Atlantic City Boardwalk Talk news be without some restaurant news? Play NJ has an update regarding when Nobu could be opening at Caesars Atlantic City.

Here is a closer look at the latest AC casino happenings.

Unity By Hard Rock coming soon to Atlantic City

Hard Rock Hotel Casino is in the process of introducing Unity – its new global loyalty program. For now, the Atlantic City market is on the waiting list. Unity by Hard Rock is available at the all Seminole Casinos, including Hollywood, Fla. Eventually, cardholders will earn Unity points at all Hard Rock casinos, hotels, cafes and rock shops.

The program is replacing the current Wild Card players rewards. Once the transition to Unity happens, players will maintain the same account numbers. New cards will be issued at kiosks and the players club desk. More importantly, don’t worry about your current tier status. The system will automatically convert to the equivalent Unity tier status (Wild Card tier points will convert to Unity tier credits at a ratio of 1:1). Wild Card comp dollars will convert to Unity points (100 Unity Points=1 Comp dollar).

Here’s a look at Unity tier levels:

  • Star: 0–3,999 tier credits
  • Legend: 4,000–14,999 tier credits
  • Icon: 15,000+ tier credits
  • X: Invite only

Play NJ will share updates once Hard Rock AC switches to the new program. Additionally, it seems likely Hard Rock online casino players will see a changes to its rewards program.

Live Boxing Returns to Bally’s Atlantic City

Bally’s Atlantic City will be hosting another edition of SHOBOX: The New Generation that will be televised live on Showtime. All of the action is taking place in the Bally’s Grand Ballroom. Tickets are $40, $100 and $150.

Brittany Lynn’s Witches and Warlocks Cabaret fundraiser at Resorts AC

Like the other eight Atlantic City casinos, Resorts AC is taking part in participating in the breast cancer awareness festivities. This includes a very special event – Brittany Lynn’s Witches and Warlocks Cabaret fundraiser. It’s taking place on Saturday, Oct. 22 inside the intimate 300-seat Screening Room. In terms of the performance, the  award-winning drag queen will be joined by Ariel Versace, Chasity St. Cartier, Gay Sinatra and Morgan Wells.

The MGM-owned Borgata is making changes to the casino floor as Miralto high-limit slot lounge will be temporarily closing Monday, Oct. 24. The 8,300-square-foot space is located near the Borgata lobby.

As far as what’s happening, word is there will be “an emphasis on sophistication.” According to a Borgata press release, this will include redesigned cabinetry to encase the distinctive collection of games. Besides the comfortable seating, the updated space will feature a custom glass chandelier spanning over 8 feet in diameter.

Miralto offers more than 150 high-limit slot games, private restrooms along with exclusive cashiering services. The project is targeted for a December completion.

Gin Rickey’s joins Tropicana Atlantic City lineup

Add Gin Rickey’s to the list of new amenities now open at Tropicana AC. Yes, it’s named after the classic cocktail.

Located in The Quarter, Gin Rickey’s is a live music bar (word is singing real loud is encouraged). The new entertainment spot takes over the space previously occupied by the Farmer’s Almanac store and opens at 4 p.m. daily. There is live music on Fridays and Saturdays.

Nola’s at Ocean Casino Resort is turning 1

Nola’s Bar & Lounge at Ocean Casino Resort is throwing a 1-year birthday bash next month. However, the bigger news is Tom Sandoval and Tom Schwartz of “Vanderpump Rules” will be hosting the festivities. The event is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 5 at 10 p.m.

Besides enjoying what’s being billed as “MAJOR insta-worthy moments,” the live entertainment will last until the very early hours of the morning. Here is the lineup posted on the Ocean website:

Is Nobu at Caesars Atlantic City opening this month?

Now that Hell’s Kitchen is open at Caesars Atlantic City, Nobu is next on the Caesars Atlantic City coming soon checklist.  Well, later this week it will be moving to the now open list as Nobu is opening on Friday, Oct. 21. Reservations are now available via Open Table.

And once the restaurant opens, the focus will shift to finishing up the Nobu hotel.
