Bet365 partnered with Simplebet to offer its micro-betting markets at the sportsbook. It pairs Bet365, one of the largest online sportsbooks in the world that is currently live in the U.S. in New Jersey and Colorado, with the leading in-play micro-betting company.

With NJ sports betting, Bet365 will offer Simplebet’s micro-betting products for five major US sports:

  • NFL
  • MLB
  • NBA
  • College football
  • College basketball

What is micro-betting?

Integration with Simplebet’s micro-betting technology will allow Bet365 NJ users to wager on individual plays that happen live during the game. These mini-prop bets offer users the chance to bet on things such as pass attempt, carry and catch.

Simplebet’s partnerships with DraftKings and Bet365

In August 2021, Simplet also partnered with DraftKings to integrate their micro-betting technology onto the sportsbook.

On partnering with Draftkings and Bet365 Chris Bevilacqua, Co-Founder and CEO of Simplebet, commented to Play NJ:

“It really authenticates us as a product innovation company. For the whole industry, it raises the level of importance of having in-play and micro-betting as an offering. We are really the only company out there that can offer these types of markets at scale with the up-time necessary.”

The present and the future of micro-betting

Bevilacqua said that already a few weeks into football season, Simplebet, through its partnership with DraftKings, has seen handle and unique users “well beyond” last year.

“I think those ‘player next attempt props,’ especially with the emphasis on the individual athletes in the U.S, are rising to the top of the user experience.”

Micro-betting provides bite-size props but there is nothing small about the future of these betting markets. Bevilacqua believes that micro-betting is only in the “second inning” as an industry.

“As we’ve seen some of the results with some of our other customers, our live in-play handle has moved toward 20-30%. A year and a half ago it was close to zero. This football season, it’s starting to get broader distribution and now everyone is starting to talk about the importance of in-play and in particular micro-betting. I think it will rise in importance in the overall product mix. In the next year or two, we believe we are going to be looking at in-play numbers in excess of 50% of the entire handle across the US.”

A blowout 14-2 White Sox win over the Oakland A’s on Sept. 8 produced the largest MLB handle in Simplebet history (regular and postseason). It also shows the power micro-betting has to keep a game where the final result was decided, engaging to viewers.
