Baseball-Themed BetMGM NJ Summer Classic Includes Over $175,000 In Guarantees
New Jersey online poker players have some tournaments online to look forward to this month. BetMGM announced the launch of a brand new online poker tournament series. The online company is hosting their first ever BetMGM Summer Classic series.
The tournaments is running the bases through July 24.
“We’re excited to follow-up on the momentum we gathered in Las Vegas through this month’s online event, the Summer Classic,” said Luke Staudenmaier, director of poker, BetMGM. “The Classic, which spotlights America’s pastime, features buy-in levels and game variants for all players.”
The series is baseball themed and offers 25 events with guaranteed prize pools of over $175,000. The tournament will have something for everyone one, with buy-ins ranging from $30 to $535. Each night three tournaments will be on deck.
The home run for NJ online poker players
The bases are loaded for this full series of BetMGM Poker events but one stand outs in the field. The highlighted tournament in the series is event 22, the Grand Slam Event. The New Jersey $400 buy-in main event tournament is on July 24. It is a progressive knockout event (PKO) tournament and comes with a $30,000 guaranteed prize pool.
Besides the PKO Grand Slam, BetMGM will offer other styles of tournaments that include heads-up, turbos, and freezeout tournaments. Each event has a baseball theme to the title. Some home run events include:
- $535 NLHE All Star Tuesday (Event 7, July 19) – $15,000 guaranteed
- $109 PLO Bases Loaded(Event 10, July 20) – $5,000 guaranteed
- $109 NLHE Walk Off (Event 24, July 24) – $15,000 guaranteed

How to get a seat in BetMGM Summer Classic series
To join in on the games, players must be located in the borders of New Jersey. The series will also be offered to Pennsylvania and Michigan players as well, but the player pools aren’t combined.
Each state hosts its own independent online series each month. All three markets are “ringed-in” environments, meaning players only compete with others within that state. Guarantees differ per state.
In the Garden State, players have the option of entering the events on either BetMGM, partypoker or Borgata NJ poker.
Weekly $30,000 tournament
Each Sunday BetMGM NJ pitches out one of the best deals of the week. The popular Sunday $30,000 guaranteed tournament will also run its course and is available for players in New Jersey. The event has a 5 p.m. (ET) start time with a $215 buy-in and starting chips of 75,000.
