Poker players know it is nice to start well in a tournament, but finishing strongly can be much more important. The top prizes all come at the final table where those who can close during the “end game” generally earn the biggest rewards.

Such is the idea connoted in the name of the new End Boss Poker Series coming to the partypoker US network in New Jersey later this month.

The series will take place Nov. 23-28 across the three partypoker US network sites in the state — partypoker NJ, Borgata Poker NJ, and BetMGM Poker NJ — with seven events and guaranteed prize pools totaling $315,000.

Seven tournaments culminating with $1,060 buy-in, $150K gtd. Main Event

New Jersey is not the only state where the partypoker US network will be running End Boss Poker Series. There will be similar series on the network’s two Pennsylvania sites and on its Michigan site over the same dates.

Note that in each state, the partypoker US network is ring-fenced. That means wherever players participate in the End Boss Poker Series, they will only be competing against others in their same state.

The series name comes from newly-signed partypoker US network brand ambassador Darren Elias. The four-time World Poker Tour champion has earned the nickname “End Boss” thanks to repeatedly demonstrating his ability to finish tournaments with all the chips.

Elias signed on to represent the network in September. According to BetMGM Director of Poker Luke Staudenmaier, Elias chipped in to help craft the End Boss Poker Series schedule.

“During the development process, we worked closely with Darren, a poker legend, to ensure that the series was accessible” to all players, said Staudenmeier.

Buy-ins for the New Jersey events start at $215 and go up to the $1,060 Main Event. The Main also sports a series-high $150,000 guarantee. There are six- and eight-handed events, with a pot-limit Omaha tournament, a progressive knockout bounty event, and a freezeout all included in the mix.

Here is the full End Boss Poker Series schedule on the partypoker US network in New Jersey:

No. Date Time (ET) Event (Gtd.) Buy-in
1 Nov. 23 (Tu) 7:00 p.m. $40K Gtd. NLH 8-Max $535
2 Nov. 24 (W) 7:00 p.m. $20K Gtd. PLO 8-Max $215
3 Nov. 25 (Th) 7:00 p.m. $25K Gtd. NLH 8-Max Progressive KO Bounty $320
4 Nov. 26 (F) 7:00 p.m. $15K Gtd. NLH – Friday Night Freezeout $215
5 Nov. 27 (Sa) 5:00 p.m. $40K Gtd. NLH 6-Max $535

Guarantees largest for NJ version of End Boss Poker Series

As noted, End Boss Poker Series will run in both Pennsylvania and Michigan from Nov. 23-28 as well. In both cases, the similar schedules feature seven events, albeit with lower guarantees than in NJ.

In Pennsylvania, the seven events will feature $230,000 in total guarantees. Players on both BetMGM Poker PA and Borgata Poker PA will get to take part in the series in PA.

Meanwhile, in Michigan, only the BetMGM Poker MI site will run the End Boss Poker Series. In MI the series’ guarantees will add up to $225,000.

New Jersey also has the largest Main Event guarantee among the three states at $150,000. In both PA and MI, the Main Event guarantee will be $100,000.

Partypoker enjoying new lead among NJ online poker sites/networks

The End Boss Poker Series in November should help the partypoker US network continue its strong performance in New Jersey where it recently took over the state’s online poker revenue lead.

According to the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement, the partypoker sites in NJ managed to claim $1.02 million in gross revenue in September from “peer-to-peer games” (i.e., online poker).

That total outran both WSOP/888/Caesars Interactive who reported just under $805,000 in gross revenue from online poker for the month. It also topped PokerStars NJ/Resorts Digital who earned just over $665,000.

That marked the first time this year Caesars was ousted from the top spot in the monthly gross revenue reports. Previously in 2021, the partypoker US network came closest to besting Caesars in March with $957K in gross revenue to Caesars’ $988K.
