Partypoker Tournament

New Jersey online poker players who are thinking about heading out west to play some cards have a new opportunity to win their way to Las Vegas. That’s because the partypoker US Network is hosting a special event this month called the Ultimate Super Satellite Tournament in which the prizes involve traveling to Sin City.

The $1,060 buy-in no-limit hold’em, eight-handed tournament takes place Sunday, June 20 at 8 p.m. The event will take place across all three NJ sites in the partypoker US network: BetMGM Poker, Borgata Poker, and partypoker NJ.

Prize money earmarked for Vegas tourneys this summer and fall

The tournament will award three guaranteed prizes worth $25,000 each to be used to buy into major tournaments in Las Vegas. Should more players take part, for every additional 25 entries another $25,000 tournament package will be added.

Winners will use the $25,000 to play live poker tournaments in Las Vegas according to the following schedule:

  • June 25-July 2 – Las Vegas $10K buy-in event
  • July 2-7 – Las Vegas $5K buy-in event
  • Nov. 4-17 – Las Vegas $10K buy-in event

Poker rooms have been reopening across the country of late, including in Nevada. As a result, Las Vegas appears poised once again to offer a busy schedule of tournaments this summer. Meanwhile, the World Series of Poker at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas will take place Sept. 30-Nov. 23 this year.

Thus should the event primarily appeal to NJ poker players already planning trips to Vegas this summer as well as for the WSOP in the fall.

Qualifying Partypoker tournaments starting at $5 to run all next week

The partypoker US network will run satellites into the Ultimate Super Satellite Tournament from June 13-19. These qualifying tournaments come with buy-ins as low as $5.

It won’t be the first time NJ players on the partypoker US network have won their way to Las Vegas. In the past, the network has more than once awarded entries into World Poker Tour events to winners of major tournaments on the network.

On June 20, BetMGM Poker in Michigan will simultaneously run a separate, similarly structured Ultimate Super Satellite Tournament. That event will award at least two $25K prizes with which to play Las Vegas tournaments.

Some momentary counterprogramming to PokerStars NJ series

The Ultimate Super Satellite Tournament on Father’s Day will provide at least one day’s worth of competition from the partypoker US network. Earlier his week, PokerStars New Jersey Summer Stacks Series was announced for June 12-28.

The 100-event Summer Stacks series will host no less than eight tournaments that same Sunday.

That said, the PokerStars NJ events should largely attract a different audience than the ones who’ll play a $1,060 event feeding into $5K and $10K live tournaments. All of the Summer Stacks Festival events cost $100 or less to play. In fact, most sport buy-ins in the $10-$50 range.
