FanDuel Sportsbook, the NJ sports betting market leader, jumped on the Garden State Parkway and went 125 miles south, straight into the heart of the Atlantic City Boardwalk.

More specifically, Bally’s Atlantic City.

This would be the home to the temporary FanDuel-branded sportsbook.

FanDuel Group and Bally’s Corporation announced the Dec. 22 opening via press release.

The retail space is located on the main casino floor, within footsteps of the escalator.

This means Bally’s is back in the New Jersey retail sports betting  game. The former Book at Bally’s, now William Hill Sportsbook at the Wild Wild West, is now part of Caesars Atlantic City.

Here are some of the specifics regarding the FanDuel Sportsbook at Bally’s:

  • Six live odds boards
  • 10 self-service IGT PlaySports betting kiosks
  • Three live betting windows
  • Open 24/7  for self-service kiosks

Attendants will be available at live wagering stations Monday through Friday, noon to 10 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Bally’s Corporation shared a couple of images.

Bets on all major U.S. sports are being accepted. This includes:

  • NFL
  • NBA
  • NCAA football and basketball
  • Soccer
  • Major League Baseball.

More importantly, the sportsbook will operate in accordance with all Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and local health guidelines and protocols.

George Papanier, president and CEO of Bally’s Corp., shared his excitement regarding the FanDuel Sportsbook opening.

“It is the first of many planned capital improvement projects at Bally’s Atlantic City and a testament to our commitment to reinvest in our physical property portfolio,” said Papanier.

“We are also looking forward to once again implementing the winning combination of Bally’s nationwide expertise in gaming and casino operations, with FanDuel’s market-leading sports betting acumen and globally recognized brand, to provide an unrivaled sportsbook experience for our loyal Atlantic City customers.”

FanDuel + Bally’s have bigger plans

A permanent sportsbook is under construction at the site of the former Blue Martini Lounge. Bally’s expects it to be ready by the spring. The facility will span 4,100 square feet and include several other amenities:

  • Luxury 80-seat lounge with 30 reclining club chairs
  • Oversized LED video walls
  • 34 self-service IGT PlaySports betting kiosks
  • Five live wagering windows
  • Food and beverage menu, including self-service craft beer

FanDuel is expanding beyond Meadowlands

FanDuel arrives in Atlantic City with strong brand recognition.

Its retail sportsbook at the Meadowlands Racetrack opened in July 2018.

The FanDuel Sportsbook app followed three months later.

The brand continues to dominate the  NJ sports betting market, often outperforming all of Atlantic City on a monthly basis.

Through November, Meadowlands Racetrack, FanDuel’s other land-based partner, has reported more than $173.3 million in 2020 sports betting revenue.

PointsBet NJ also operates under the license. However, it is Play NJ’s understanding that FanDuel accounts for the bulk of it.

The result stands out even more when compared to the Atlantic City market as a whole. The eight retail sportsbooks and their online partners have generated nearly $137.4 million combined year to date.

So it seems FanDuel is looking even stronger heading into 2021. Teaming up with Bally’s Corp., is a pretty big deal, too.

“We are excited to be one the first pieces of the Capital Improvement Project at Bally’s Atlantic City Casino & Hotel,” said Keith Wall, vice president of retail for FanDuel Group. “While we are eager to get up and running with our temporary sportsbook, we cannot wait until we open the permanent location and showcase to Atlantic City why FanDuel is the number one sportsbook in New Jersey.”
