NJ Transit Signs Deal With BetMGM For Meadowlands Rail Line Naming Rights

Written By Chris Imperiale on September 14, 2022

NJ Transit agreed to a new partnership with BetMGM, giving the gaming operator naming rights for the Meadowlands Rail Line. The three-year deal renames the public transportation route the BetMGM Meadowlands Rail Line. It also provides plenty of other advertising throughout the Garden State system.

Most in the NJ gambling market are aware they can use both the BetMGM Casino NJ and its BetMGM Sportsbook within the state. Both are among the top platforms available in a congested market.

Now as residents travel to MetLife Stadium on Sundays for the Jets and Giants, they’ll be doing so on the BetMGM line. The move intends to help maintain steady fares for those in the area who utilize NJ Transit.

The New Jersey Department of Transportation Commissioner and NJ Transit Board Chair, Diane Gutierrez-Scaccetti, discussed the benefits of this new venture. She said:

“The Murphy Administration is committed to keeping fares stable for NJ Transit customers. Partnering with BetMGM is a step towards that commitment by identifying new revenue streams that help keep fares affordable.”

NJ Transit’s BetMGM Meadowlands Rail Line

The newly branded NJ Transit track is already showing up as the BetMGM Meadowlands Rail Line on the latest version of rail system maps.

Beyond the naming rights, riders will also be exposed to a wide range of advertisements from BetMGM. With its advertising partner, Intersection, NJ Transit is set to launch widespread print and digital ads for BetMGM throughout.

Of course, the gaming provider is excited about locking in a unique agreement with the transportation company. BetMGM’s Chief Revenue Officer, Matt Prevost, talked about this great opportunity. Prevost said:

“BetMGM is thrilled to announce this groundbreaking partnership with NJ Transit. The creation of the BetMGM Meadowlands Rail Line generates unparalleled exposure to our leading iGaming brand, through station signage and rider volume – particularly on our favorite day of the week: gameday. New Jersey is our home and first market, and we see today’s announcement as an extension of our strong relationship with the state.”

Rebranded ride to MetLife Stadium

The freshly named line runs between Secaucus Junction and the Meadowlands Station, which is directly next to MetLife Stadium.

NJ Transit President and CEO, Kevin S. Corbett, also reiterated the message regarding how this deal impacts those using the service. Corbett said:

“This unique advertising partnership represents a significant new source of revenue for NJ Transit. This new and innovative partnership is part of our continued commitment to leverage NJ Transit assets to maximize non-farebox revenue and help keep fares stable for our customers.”

NFL fans headed to the Giants game against Carolina this Sunday can ride the BetMGM Meadowlands Rail Line. Additionally, they can put some action down on the tilt while doing so.
