Now that the first part is out of the way, who do you like?

This is an easier game than many colleges championship games for bettors to handicap. There is no strength of schedule variable.

The teams already played each other this season and bettors will form opinions from Alabama’s 41-24 home triumph on Dec. 4.

Crimson Tide backers believe it shows they are the better team. Alabama is loaded with offensive weapons, including Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Bryce Young. He threw for 421 yards and three touchdowns in the first game.

Georgia bettors, meanwhile, believe the final score was misleading.  In their eyes, the margin of victory was aided by a Pick 6 by the Alabama defense, another interception that negated points and a field goal that Georgia could not kick because it trailed by too many points.

To a Bulldog bettor, change the outcome of a couple plays and this is a different game. Georgia optimism is further enhanced by the absence of John Metchie. Alabama’s second-leading receiver is out with a torn ACL.

Alabama and Georgia College Football Playoff recap

The championship game is at a neutral site, Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

The teams unveiled blazing offenses in the first game, combining for 985 yards.

They then bulldozed through the semifinal round with stout defenses.

Alabama justified its role of 13-point favorite against Cincinnati, stifling the Bearcats 27-6.

Georgia throttled a good Michigan team, 34-11, at -7.5.  The Wolverines had scored 42 points against both Ohio State and Iowa, but had no answer for Georgia.

Can the defenses rise again and significantly impact this game? Who wins the bigest game of the college bowl season?

FanDuel promo players, it won’t cost much to find out. But it will pay well if you are right.
