NJ Borgata Online Casino Player Hits Progressive Jackpot Win On $5 Wager
For the third time in under a month, a New Jersey gambler has claimed a progressive jackpot. The latest, an MGM Grand Millions jackpot, came Friday.
The lucky online casino player now has some decisions to make regarding what to do with the good fortune. While the value of the prize isn’t a record-breaker, it’s still a life-changing amount of money.

A press release from BetMGM didn’t reveal the identity of the winner, outside of stating the victor was playing the game on the Borgata Casino online platform in NJ. The press release also states that the player wagered $5 on the winning spin.
The Big One Colossal Cash jackpot sat at $717,427.87 at the time. BetMGM says it is one of the largest progressive jackpots it has ever paid out.
“BetMGM is proud to continue to deliver life-changing wins to its players through our in-house, networked progressive jackpot games,” said Matthew Sunderland, VP Gaming, BetMGM. “Players in New Jersey have won prizes of this size for some time and, as we grow, our hope is that players in newly-regulated states will do the same.”
The record for a BetMGM progressive jackpot is $3,266,476.20. A player set that mark in July 2020 on just a $2 wager, also in the Garden State.
The winner of Friday’s prize indicated that at least part of the money would go to paying off a mortgage. That person is just one of multiple lucky winners in NJ lately, though.
An impressive run for NJ gamblers lately
Late last month, a New Jerseyan won nearly a million dollars playing another BetMGM online casino game, MegaJackpots Cleopatra. That prize came on BetMGM Casino, not Borgata Online, though.
Brick-and-mortar gamblers have gotten in on the action in NJ as well. Just last week, a man at the Tropicana Atlantic City won over a million playing a progressive jackpot poker game.
